Laying the Floor
Laying an epoxy floor is normally done over at least three to four days, it does depend size and system that is to be done.
During the first day there is a lot of preparation to be done, grinding and cleaning the floor. Most this time it will be fine to have other trades there working on the floor if necessary.
Depending on the size of the job, we will lay the primer coat on the floor late on the first day. This will allow it to dry over night.
On the second morning, the floor will be dry and if really necessary other trades can work neatly on the floor. This is often the day that the, cracks are filled and patches done. In the afternoon other trades may have to clear out to allow the next coat to be put on and the floor flaked or left a plane colour depends o what the customer requests.
This involves in sanding and vacuuming excess flake from the floor before applying first coat of clear. You should be sure before this day to make sure they want to be non-slip.
The final coat of clear, once final coat of clear is applied the floor will need around 12 to 24 hours to cure to a walk able level and up to 10 days before you can start driving on or pulling heavy machines over it.
